Doom Emacs is truly a modern take on Emacs, and the only reason why I switched. I couldn't imagine myself using GNU, coming from more user-friendly tools like Notion and Obsidian.
It's funny to see how many modern apps are trying to replicate the power of org-mode, when org-mode has existed for decades.
The only downside I can think of is the compatibility with mobile devices and the Apple ecosystem. I'd love to add tasks just by talking to my watch when I'm out and about.
I used EMACS in the 1980s on Symbolics Lisp Machines and on dumb terminals. I did not know about DOOM EMACS so I will go check it out.
